# Need help in Calculas

## Recommended Posts

selam,

sis cant be x but,

e^lnx = y take ln of both sides

lnx * lne = lny (lne= 1)

lnx = lny (if this is it)

x=y

dy/dx = 1

My question is also dealing with Calculus but the basic part, which I forgot.

Ok here's the thing. Its got to with inequality which is in Absolute values, the beginning Capter.

Multiplying or didviding both sides of an inequality by a negative number reverses the inequality: if a < b and c < 0, then ac > bc.

To see this notice that a < b implies b - a > 0. Hence, (b - a)c < 0, since the product of a positve number and a negative number is negative. So bc - ac < 0, or bc <ac.

Can someone plz explain the above statement and tell me what inequality also means.

Shukran.

selam,

nobody answered yet? i hope not to late.

if it was "=", instead of "<" or ">" it would be equation, but there is no equality thats why its inequality....

let me give you an example:

if a=5 and b=6 and c= -3

5<6 i mean a<b but if you multiply them with c

5 * (-3) = -15

6* (-3) = - 18

if you think their absolute value 15 <18 but if they were negative -15>-18 bec. -15 is closer 0 than -18.

and second one. again thing about same value.

5<6 add to the both sides -5

5 -5 < 6-5

0 < 1 or 1>0

and then multiply with c

1* (-3) = -3 means its smaller than 0.

(b-a) c <0

i hope this makes you clear...
