Rahim_1 0 Posted January 11, 2005 Salam peopleim new to this site i was just wondering if any of u people know, if jana is an Islamic name. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Salam Sister I am not sure about Jana, But the word Janna - (it is very similar), I am not sure how you are pronouncing it, but Janna means unseen or concealed. In arabic all words beginning with J tend to be hiden things like Jannat. or Jahanam However, the word Jinn comes from the verb janna. I can not remember clearly, need to double check this out, Janna might have been the name of shaytan, parents I can't say for certain whether it should be used to name a new born, but I would personally look for something better. Hope this help, if I find anymore I will let you know Malikum salam
