[Day 22] 1300 Dead, 5320 Injured, 50% children/women

The israeli terrorist army is continuing to kill civilian women and children of Gaza, using US F16s and other US-EU arsenal of killing machines, in an apparent genocide of the Palestinian people. They continue to bury Muslims under the roofs and rubles of their homes, Masjids, hospitals and schools.

This statement was issued December 27 in response to israel's attack in Gaza by Professor Richard Falk, United Nations special rapporteur for human rights in the Occupied Territories:

The israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip represent severe and massive violations of international humanitarian law as defined in the Geneva Conventions, both in regard to the obligations of an Occupying Power and in the requirements of the laws of war.

Those violations include:

• Collective punishment: The entire 1.5 million people who live in the crowded Gaza Strip are being punished for the actions of a few militants.

• Targeting civilians: The airstrikes were aimed at civilian areas in one of the most crowded stretches of land in the world, certainly the most densely populated area of the Middle East.

• Disproportionate military response: The airstrikes have not only destroyed every police and security office of Gaza's elected government, but have killed and injured hundreds of civilians; at least one strike reportedly hit groups of students attempting to find transportation home from the university.

Earlier israeli actions, specifically the complete sealing off of entry and exit to and from the Gaza Strip, have led to severe shortages of medicine and fuel (as well as food), resulting in the inability of ambulances to respond to the injured, the inability of hospitals to adequately provide medicine or necessary equipment for the injured, and the inability of Gaza's besieged doctors and other medical workers to sufficiently treat the victims.

Certainly the rocket attacks against civilian targets in israel are unlawful. But that illegality does not give rise to any israeli right, neither as the Occupying Power nor as a sovereign state, to violate international humanitarian law and commit war crimes or crimes against humanity in its response. I note that israel's escalating military assaults have not made israeli civilians safer; to the contrary, the one israeli killed today after the upsurge of israeli violence is the first in over a year.

israel has also ignored recent Hamas diplomatic initiatives to re-establish the truce or ceasefire since its expiration on December 26.

The israeli airstrikes today, and the catastrophic human toll that they caused, challenge those countries that have been and remain complicit, either directly or indirectly, in israel's violations of international law. That complicity includes those countries knowingly providing the military equipment including warplanes and missiles used in these illegal attacks, as well as those countries who have supported and participated in the siege of Gaza that itself has caused a humanitarian catastrophe.

I remind all Member States of the United Nations that the UN continues to be bound to an independent obligation to protect any civilian population facing massive violations of international humanitarian law--regardless of what country may be responsible for those violations. I call on all Member States, as well as officials and every relevant organ of the United Nations system, to move on an emergency basis not only to condemn israel's serious violations, but to develop new approaches to providing real protection for the Palestinian people.

Earlier this evening: The bodies of two Palestinian children killed in a terrorist israeli air strike on the Ibrahim al-Maqadna Masjid in Jabalia, lie next to each other in the mortuary of a hospital in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip on January 3, 2008. At least 16 Palestinians, including four boys, were killed today when the terrorist israeli air raid struck a Masjid during prayers in the northern town of Jabalia. More than 450 Palestinians killed and 2800 injured. (Photo 1 credit: MOHAMMED ABED/AFP/Getty Images, photo 2 credit:REUTERS/Ismail Zaydah)

:sl: Dear Muslims

All those Muslims have been killed in these unjust wars, May Allah (SWT) grant them the highest ranks of Jannah, and as for those Kuffar responsible for these crimes, they will be responsbile for their actions, whether in tihs life, or in the hereafter, where they will have to answer to Allah (SWT).

May Allah (SWT) make it easy for all of the Muslims.

Surely victory does not come from weapons or from threats, but from Allah (SWT).

Assalamou aleykoum dear brothers and sisters,

The israeli's are doing what the israeli's do best. They are brutally and systematically slaughtering a population under siege. Striking the innocents whilst they are at their weakest; deprived of food and medical aid. Can we ever envisage them changing their ways? Surely we can now see that the only way this will stop is when He (swt) Wills it to stop. Allah will deal with the oppressors and will hand out a most Just chastisement.

For the people of Gaza this is a purification. They enter the presence of their Lord in the most lofty of states and their eternal abode will inshaAllah be amongst the Prophets and the righteous in everlasting felicity.

For us, when and how will our purification come? Allah will not change our state as a nation until we bring about an overhaul of our selves. What are we doing (or not doing, as the case may be) for this calamity to befall our innocent brethren in Palestine? It is time for us to use the anger and outrage rising up inside of us to stir our communities into action. Not only to rightly protest against this brutal and disproportionate killing mission and to collectively boycott anything with any links to the state of israel, but more importantly, to rectify our states as individuals belonging to the Ummah Muhammadiyyah and in one strengthened voice, beseech the Almighty to remove us from the state we are in.

Truly Allah is sufficient for us.

'During the last seven years, 14 israelis have been killed by mostly homemade rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, while more than 5,000 Palestinians were killed by israel with some of the most advanced US-supplied armaments in the world', Seumas Milne, The Guardian, 30 December 2008.

beware of what you say, brother samy:

do you think that a nuclear bomb will kill only zionists. unless you invent a bomb that only kills israelis. you are willing to destroy Jerusalam, Masjid al Aqsa, and the people of filasteen? prophet's are buried under the ground of the holy land and you want to nuke it? the land is the land that belongs to the muslims and you want to nuke it? the city of jerusalam was built by Dawood and Sulayman alayhissalam and you think about nuking it?

do you want the children play outside while the ground and the trees are radioactively polluted?

we know that the filasteen problem is not solved until the coming of Isa alayhissalam.

I honest to god feel like i'm in the twilight zone, for this type of injustice to be going on in this day and age and absolutely nothing being done about it is mind boggeling. How can this even be happening Subhanallah 550 people in 10 days, and the sad things is that the people of gaza have no way to escape their caged in. What a sad state the Muslim World is in.

Inshallah israel will get what's coming to it.

This is crazy.

salaam

Day 11: 640 dead, and more than 2850 injured.

israel started bombing Gaza with cluster bombs, which kills far more people that convensional bombs. Only 30% of those bombs explode right away, and the other 70% explode later on among people when its least expected.

The israeli terror army also killed 40 today when it shelled a school of children run by the UN as a save haven for Palestinian children (or so it was supposed to be).

I think we Muslims are showing double standards here. Muslims everywhere are on fire because of the Palestinian issue.. (as they should be) ..but where were these demonstrations, condemnations, internet forums going crazy, people wanting to help , this and that, etc.. where was this when atrocities happened to Muslims in Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Chechnya, Kashmir, etc... (These are still happening) ..Do we care about some Muslims more than others?

SaracenSoldier,

Gaza is different. First because its a conflict with the meanest, lowest all-time enemy of Islam. Second because Palestine is home of masjid Al-Aqsa, the First qibla, the Second house of prayer established on Earth , and the Third holiest masjid by its virtue. This is a war against Islam and Muslims of the whole world. The zionists of the israeli terror state are systematically cleansing the Palestinian people, in their first phase to rule the whole middle east

The quote you posted above is used by those who sympathize with israel and try to attract our attention away from the real enemy of not just Islam, but humanity altogether.

Walaikumslam..

The blood of one believer is more important than the Ka'ba. So whether a Muslim dies in Palestine or Somalia or kashmir, it's the same. And as you said.. "This is a war against Islam and Muslims of the whole world". So we should care about Muslims in Chechnya as much as Muslims in Gaza.

Yes Jerusalem and that area is the Holy land and very important. But w as Muslims should worry about our people in Afghanistan or Iraq as much as Palestine.

The quote you posted above is used by those who sympathize with israel and try to attract our attention away from the real enemy of not just Islam, but humanity altogether.

Akhi, I think you should not say stuff like this. How do you know who wrote the quote and who the person is?

The quote says: "Muslims everywhere are on fire because of the Palestinian issue.. (as they should be)"

How did you come up with the conclusion that the person sympathizes with israel?

There is no" double standards" this is another evil act that is happening to our family and being that its the most recent and its happening now YOUR DAMN RIGHT WE ARE GOING TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST IT!! This is wrong where do we draw the line huh? Why wont muslim countries come together and silence this once and for all WHY?!!!! Because they are filled with greed and fear Insha Allah we will rise up and all of this that is happening to us will be the grounds and proof to show the future muslims to never give these people control over you!! IN ANY ASPECT!! WE WILL NEVER FORGET THESE ATROCITIES!! AND when are in the position of athority we will forgive but we will never forget!! Brother Saracensoldier that qoute is insensitive to what is happening in Gaza right now!! We know what is happening in other countries as well and we speak out as well

Firstly akhi.. can we not get angry please?

Secondly, The quote is not telling you not to speak out about the Gaza conflict. It says that you should and encourages it. It's just making a point that there are infact double standards. Muslims did not demostrate around the world when Somalia was invaded by Ethiopia in 2006. Russian troops even till today are killing Muslims in the Caucasus, yet we do not see any response of this scale from the Muslims. Muslims of Afghanistan and NWFP in Pakistan are being killed and displaced. Where are all the protests for that?

Was this forums side bar changed and a section made especially for our brothers in Somalia when it was invaded by the crusaders in 2006?

Anyways, I do not know why you called it "stupid" when it is just a reminder not to forget other parts of the Muslim Ummah. This is in no way discouraging you to support the Muslims in Gaza. If you think it is then you are far from the truth.

This is wrong where do we draw the line huh? Why wont muslim countries come together and silence this once and for all WHY?!!!! What does that quote have to do with what Muslim countries do? Not a single word that I have posted is telling you to forget these attrocities.

Brother Saracensoldier that qoute is insensitive to what is happening in Gaza right now!! We know what is happening in other countries as well and we speak out as well

And the double standards from the Muslim Ummah regarding some Muslims is also greatly insensitive. You must realize that other Muslims just like the Muslims in Falastine are dying and under oppression too. This again is in no way meant to take anything away from our support of our people in Gaza.. but just to remind you that we have other places where our people are suffering too. Do you know what the Muslims in China are going through right now? I'm pretty sure you don't.

Akhi, lets actually think about this fairly and not let our emotions take over. Let's aim our emotions and anger on israel and other numerous enemies that we have.

Firstly akhi.. can we not get angry please?

Muslims dying and the most recent acts of violence in gaza against Muslims, you come with a post of how muslims are practicing double standards??? are you stupid??? Children are dying now yes also in other parts of the muslim world and we are angered by that as well, but what is on the news and in our face NOW 24 7 it is whats happening in Gaza!!

To mention double standards and to suggest that muslims care more about "CERTAIN" muslims (like the palestinian or the arab) is a suggestion of none other than the satan himself! One only needs to look on the "INTERNET" to see how muslims all over the world protested to the violence that is happening to other muslim countries!

Was this forums side bar changed and a section made especially for our brothers in Somalia when it was invaded by the crusaders in 2006?

listen to you this is another shatonic post, when was Israeal made??? those muslims have been suffering since 1920's. We all feel hurt for all the muslims and just because the administrator put up gaza does not mean that he or she does not care about muslims eleswhere. Did you even consider that maybe the brother or sister has family in Gaza or that what has been happening in Gaza since the 1920's prompted them to make an Islamic forum?? Here muslims are hurting for the injustices that is happening and you come proclaiming to be a muslim and you start throwing darts at us. Tell me why when you first joined Islamic forum You didnot start THREADS on muslim in other countries being killed or the double standards?? You chose now and at a time like this when alot of muslims on here come from the background of the middle east to say that muslims are practicing double standards, this is wrong!!

Anyways, I do not know why you called it "stupid" when it is just a reminder not to forget other parts of the Muslim Ummah. This is in no way discouraging you to support the Muslims in Gaza. If you think it is then you are far from the truth.

It is stupid!! its like someone comming in your house and shooting your mother and your loved ones in the head and then getting away with it and when you start speaking out on the injustice that has happened i come along and say, " So, what about the muslims in Gaza?? we have to feel sorry for them to, why you all worried about your family, your practicing double standards ,what about the muslim families" I could only imagine what you would say and do

What does that quote have to do with what Muslim countries do? Not a single word that I have posted is telling you to forget these attrocities.

And here is where we get to the evil in your words! How do you know that muslims are practicing double standards??? Your information comes from the same zionist news that we all watch and they have double standards. Not yet have i seen you write about how these recent acts in Gaza has affected you, you just started to stupidly defend other muslims who we all care about. Whos practicing double standards?? You are!!

Do you know what the Muslims in China are going through right now? I'm pretty sure you don't.

do you know what the muslims in bermuda are going through?? See how stupid this sounds. The ones whos attacking our muslim brothers and sisters are the same ones that control the information that we watch unless your in that particular country to witness first hand.

Akhi, lets actually think about this fairly and not let our emotions take over. Let's aim our emotions and anger on israel and other numerous enemies that we have.

Shaton whispers then he withdraws himself, beware brother of his whispering its very deceptive. If you wanted to aim emotions and anger in what israel is doing then you should have done that first and not post nonesense about how muslims are practicing double standards. If thats the case then think about this..... was our Prophet(pbuh) practicing double standards when he chose to leave mecca with abu baker or what about when he migrated to medina and left other muslims still in mecca. Did he favour medina over mecca did he love medina more than the house of worship?? was he practicing double standards???

May Allah help the Ummah of Muhamad(saw) soon. Ameen

Yes and may he help us to help ourselves
