Abu Shuraih, Al-Adawi said that he had said to Amr bin Said when he was sending the troops to Makkah (to fight 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair), "O Chief! Allow me to tell you what Allah's Apostle said on the day following the Conquest of Mecca. My ears heard that and my heart understood it thoroughly and I saw with my own eyes the Prophet when he, after Glorifying and Praising Allah, started saying, 'Allah, not the people, made Makkah a sanctuary, so anybody who has belief in Allah and the Last Day should neither shed blood in it, nor should he cut down its trees. If anybody tells (argues) that fighting in it is permissible on the basis that Allah's Apostle did fight in Makkah, say to him, 'Allah allowed His Apostle and did not allow you.' "Allah allowed me only for a few hours on that day (of the conquest) and today its sanctity is valid as it was before. So, those who are present should inform those who are absent (concerning this fact." Abu Shuraih was asked, "What did Amr reply?" He said, (Amr said) 'O Abu Shuraih! Sahih Bukhari Chapter No: 29

Hadith no: 60

Fighting was not permissable in it for anyone before me, and even for me it was allowed only for a portion of a day. So, it is a sanctuary withs Allah's (SWT) sanctity till the Day of Resurrection. Its thorns should not be uprooted and its game should not be chased; and its Luqata (fallen things) should not be picked up except by the one who would announce that publicly, and its vegetation (grass etc.) should not be cut." A man prayed with him the asr prayer and then passed by a section of the Ansar people while they were in ruku of the salah of asr facing Bayt al-Maqdis. Respected brother SaracenSoldier, Saudi Arabia is a sacred land. I do not know after who was it named. But everyone, including the ulma of Saudia Arabia, are labeled "Saudis." I found the video a bit disrespectful and that's all.

1. Sad clown, do not dsecribe my actions. No one reply to this post.

2. Soldier, now go busy yourself with worship, and don't waste your time on things that won't benefit you.

I meant no disrespect, just some humor since the connection between your post and the video was unclear. It is clear now, so no need for hostility. Let's remain cordial instead.

Sis orthodox, jazakAllah khair for the advice. The video was not making fun of the land. Nor does it say anything bad about the name 'Saudi'. Nor was this my intention.

It's just about how you say 'Saudi'. Like teaching some Arabs or a Somali friend of mine to say Pakistan and not Bakistan. Does not mean its disrespecting the land.

Salams Sister Orthodox,

I doubt the purpose of the video or of SaracenSoldier posting it here was to mock or make fun of Saudia Arabia or its inhabitants. A little humor every now and then isn't going to kill anyone. :sl:

Assalamu Alaikum, myself and my husband teach Qur'aan and Tajweed (the correct way of recitation) and we have problem specially with the older students (the little ones mashaAllah are very good with copying sounds), it's very hard for them to pronounce certain letters correctly, and we end up repeating those letters to them and show them where the point of articulation for that letter is. Offcourse minus the screaming and slapping, but I have to tell you honestly sometimes it gets very frustrating because it is just too hard for some of them.

I see this is posted in the Just for Fun section, I suggest everyone loosen up a bit and have some fun.

Here are a couple of my personal experienes. Read, figure out and laugh (BROTHER S.S)

___We were parking our car near the Masjid and a person comes and asks my husband:

"Brother can I BARK HERE"

my husband replies:

"It's a free country brother you can BARK ANYWHERE YOU WANT"

___Coincidently this happened in a Masjid too, back in 1976 when I came to Canada and was not aware of the linguistic issues. I'm sitting in the ladies section behind the curtain in the Masjid, the Adhan was called and then I hear a brother almost shouting "brothers come soon it's time to BRAY.

I am shocked and looking around at the few sisters there and wondering why do people have to Bray.

A few seconds later the prayer started, later upon inquiring my husband explaind to me the beauty of different ways things can be said, hehehehe.

Salaam and duaas.

"

Imam Malik's Muwatta Chapter No: 45

Hadith no: 10

Narrated / Authority Of: Anas bin Malik

Yahya related to me from Malik from Amr, the mawla of al-Muttalib from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw Uhud and said, "This is a mountain which loves us and we love it. O Allah! Ibrahim made Makka Haram, and I will make what is between the two tracts of black stones (in Madina) a Haram."

Makkah, Medina, Makkah, Medina, Makkah...... etc. Those places are indeed blessed. The grave of the Prophet (upon him be peace and blessings) is the most blessed place in the world. Makkah has bayt Allah but where is the rest of Najd (i.e. Saudi)?

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Sham, O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Yemen.” They said: “And in our Najd?” and he said: “O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Sham, O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Yemen.” They said: “And in our Najd?” and I believe that he said on the third occasion: “In that place (najd) are earthquakes and seditions, and in that place shall rise the devil’s horn.” (See: Sahih al-Bukhari, no: 990)

Sayyiduna Amr ibn Abasa (Allah be pleased with him) relates that Uyayna ibn Hisn al-Fazari once remarked in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) that the best of men are ….the people of Najd. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) replied: “You have lied! Rather, the best of men are the people of Yemen. Belief/faith (iman) is Yemeni and I am also a Yemeni.” (Tabrani and Ahmad, with all the narrators in the chain authentic (thiqat). See: Majma’ al-Zawa’id, 10/44)

In the final part of the last Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) referred himself as a Yemeni. The reason could be (And Allah knows best) that “ Yemen” was in fact the name of Qahtan’s son, and Qahtan was a forefather of the Arabs and was from the children of Sayyiduna Isma’il (peace be upon him). Hence, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) had a relationship of ancestry with the Yemenis. It could also mean that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) was implying that he liked the character and manners of the Yemenis; hence he referred himself to be “as” a Yemeni for having something in common with them. Whatever the reason may be, the fact that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) called himself a Yemeni is such a virtue for the people of Yemen that it cannot be underestimated.

I have nothing against the Saudis but don't think for a moment that they are more privileged of closer to the deen then anyone else.

Anyway I wont bother replying to any messages so don't bother. Don't even know why I reading this forum.

___We were parking our car near the Masjid and a person comes and asks my husband:

"Brother can I BARK HERE"

my husband replies:

"It's a free country brother you can BARK ANYWHERE YOU WANT"

:sl:

Lol, this made me laugh hard. I'm guessing the brother was Somali; B's and P's are our weakness. For other Africans (usually Swahili speaking ones), it's mostly R and L. I remember grade school in Kenya, the teacher was trying to control a bunch of children by screaming, "No lunning! No lunning!" "Lun" is how they pronounce "Learn" - but what she really meant was "No running!" Us being naughty 10 year olds, we ran even harder, using the excuse that the teacher had exempted us from classes.
