Iraq has been struck by a wave of bombings that killed more than 70 people, wounded at least 146 others, and has further deepened the country’s sectarian divide at a time of ongoing crisis in government. The coordinated attacks on Thursday targeted Shia Muslims and their communities, leading to an atmosphere of fear that recalls the bloody sectarian war from 2006 to 2007, and only looks to worsen in days to come.

I'm not clear on who the involved parties are in the current violence in Iraq. Does anyone have more information on this?

Allah has warned us of making sects, but all these people ignore it. Shameful....

It seems like the issue is really intransigent, going all the way to the very top of the government. I have a lot of doubts that the current Iraqi leadership is capable of resolving these differences and bringing about peace for the country.
