Discrimination Against Muslims In Europe

Recommended Posts

Human rights group Amnesty International says Muslims who openly show their faith suffer widespread discrimination in Europe. In a new report the group urges Europe's governments to do more to challenge negative stereotypes and prejudices against Muslims.

In particular, it says Muslims face exclusion from jobs and education for wearing traditional forms of dress.

^ Oh yea it is a surprise that universal human rights are not actually universal lol

“There is a groundswell of opinion in many European countries that Islam is alright and Muslims are ok so long as they are not too visible. This attitude is generating human rights violations and needs to be challenged,” said Marco Perolini.

Very true, it is clear that as long as a Muslim woman isolates herself at home then it is ok - but when she wants to go to school or get a job and she identifies herself as a Muslim then no way that is unbearable for them

Really good book. Good history lesson:

An Incomplete History: Muslims in Andalus

By Abi Hashim Al Muhajir. The Incomplete History: Muslims in Andalus after 1492 in a Global Perspective & its Relevance to Muslims today. A new book has been released called An Incomplete History: The Muslims of Spain Post 1492 In A Global Context And Its Relevance to Muslims Today. The brother who wrote this book has done extensive research and has spent a great deal of time understanding Andalus post 1492 CE. His insights into the similarity of the situation of the Muslims then and now are fascinating. Please ask others to put this book up on their sites. This will help all of us put the current situation in context.
