Recommended Posts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBZiAJKXcNc

It this video, you learn all 28 Arabic letters.

You also learn the 3 basic auxiliary signs, or vowel signs (fat'ha, dumma, kasra).

Each letter is displayed and pronounced 3 times, with each sign, as follows:

1- with fat'ha on top of the letter, which adds an 'aa' vowel sound to the letter.

example:

بَ

pronounced: baa (as in banana)

2- with dumma on top of the letter, which adds an 'o' vowel sound to the letter.

example:

بُ

pronounced: bo (as in bold)

3- with kasra under the letter, which adds an 'e' or 'i' vowel sound to the letter.

example:

بِ

pronounced: be (as in below)
