andalusi 238 Posted March 15, 2013 Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Prophet Mohammad صلىالله عليه وسلم said: "The Hour (of Resurrection/Judgment day)will not occur, until the land of the Arabs returns to being pastures andrivers." (Sahih Muslim).A variation of this Hadith alsoappears in Musnad of Imam Ahmad:"The Hour (ofResurrection) will not occur until the Arabian Peninsula returns, as it used tobe, paradises and rivers." (Musnad Ahmad)but lookthisSahara Desert Greening Due to Climate Change?JamesOwenfor National Geographic NewsJuly 31,2009Desertification, drought, and despair—that's what global warminghas in store for much of Africa. Or so we hear.Emerging evidence ispainting a very different scenario, one in which rising temperatures couldbenefit millions of Africans in the driest parts of thecontinentScientists are now seeing signals that theSahara desert and surrounding regions are greening due to increasingrainfall. If sustained, these rains could revitalizedrought-ravaged regions, reclaiming them for farming communities.Thisdesert-shrinking trend is supported by climate models, whichpredict a return to conditions that turned the Sahara into a lush savanna some12,000 years ago.Green ShootsThe green shoots of recoveryare showing up on satellite images of regions including the Sahel, a semi-desertzone bordering the Sahara to the south that stretches some 2,400 miles (3,860kilometers).Images taken between 1982 and 2002 revealed extensiveregreening throughout the Sahel, according to a new study in the journalBiogeosciences. The study suggests huge increases in vegetation in areasincluding central Chad and western Sudan. The transition may be occurringbecause hotter air has more capacity to hold moisture, which in turn createsmore rain, said Martin Claussen of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology inHamburg, Germany, who was not involved in the new study."Thewater-holding capacity of the air is the main driving force," Claussen said. While satellite images can't distinguish temporary plants like grassesthat come and go with the rains, ground surveys suggest recent vegetation changeis firmly rooted. In the eastern Sahara area of southwestern Egypt andnorthern Sudan, new trees—such as acacias—are flourishing, according to StefanKröpelin, a climate scientist at the University of Cologne's Africa ResearchUnit in Germany."Shrubs are coming up and growing into big shrubs. Thisis completely different from having a bit more tiny grass," said Kröpelin, whohas studied the region for two decades. In 2008 Kröpelin—not involved inthe new satellite research—visited Western Sahara, a disputed territorycontrolled by Morocco."The nomads there told me therewas never as much rainfall as in the past few years," Kröpelin said."They have never seen so much grazing land.""Before, there was not asingle scorpion, not a single blade of grass," he said."Now you havepeople grazing their camels in areas which may not have been used for hundredsor even thousands of years. You see birds, ostriches, gazelles coming back, evensorts of amphibians coming back," he said."The trend hascontinued for more than 20 years. It is indisputable."UncertainFutureAn explosion in plant growth has been predicted by some climatemodels. For instance, in 2005 a team led by Reindert Haarsma of theRoyal Netherlands Meteorological Institute in De Bilt, the Netherlands, forecastsignificantly more future rainfall in the Sahel. The study in GeophysicalResearch Letters predicted that rainfall in the July to September wet seasonwould rise by up to two millimeters a day by 2080.Satellite data shows"that indeed during the last decade, the Sahel is becoming more green," Haarsmasaid.Even so, climate scientists don't agree on how future climatechange will affect the Sahel: Some studies simulate a decrease inrainfall."This issue is still rather uncertain," Haarsma said.Max Planck's Claussen said North Africa is the area of greatestdisagreement among climate change modelers.Forecasting how globalwarming will affect the region is complicated by its vast size and theunpredictable influence of high-altitude winds that disperse monsoon rains,Claussen added."Half the models follow a wetter trend, and half a driertrend."Saudia arabiaThis prophecy has startedto materialize:A Muslim man named Zaheer has recently reported on hisblog ( http://zaheersblog.blogspot.com ) that he went to Saudi Arabiato perform Umrah. He went to Madina first and then Makka. On June 27, 2010, onhis way to Makka, may be about twenty five miles from it, he started noticinggreenery. The whole desert looked like a faint green meadow. This greenery wasnot the result of some intentional gardening or landscaping. This is what usedto be a bare desert and it is miles and miles of land. The following arephotos taken by Faraz Omar showing the new greenery in Saudi Arabia:
andalusi 238 Posted March 15, 2013 OMG! Is Arabia turning green?By Faraz Omar on 16 March 2010JEDDAH – On our way back from Makkah, we could not help but notice the "greenery" that had spread across the desert sands and mountains on both sides of the highway. At first we looked cursorily, "ah, some green offshoots." Then we just couldn't stop looking. A long stretch of the highway, for God knows how many kilometers, had unmistakably become quite green with desert grass. In my years of uncountable number of travels to Makkah (Alhamdulillah [at] the blessing!), I – or my family – have never ever witnessed this.I got excited! Is Arabia turning green? We've been listening since childhood the prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was the last Prophet of God to the entire humankind, that one of the (minor) signs of the Last Day is that Arabia will become green.Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The Hour will not be established until the land of the Arabs returns to being pastures and rivers." (Sahih Muslim)It was like, "Subhan Allah! Has this started happening?" I returned and spoke to some people and many had noticed this. So, I decided to call some of our own "wizards of ooze" and see what they have to say about it."They are doing that to prevent sand storms," said Prof. Magdy Yousef Yousef Shamy of King Abdul Aziz University. He's from the department of environmental sciences.Hmm, so a human effort, is it? "Yes, yes, it's human effort," he replied confidently.Interesting and quite good, I thought. Indeed, the desert sands can be quite lethal during sandstorms for motorists. But that doesn't mean the prophecy is not coming true. Human beings do what they have to do, but it's up to Allah to bless that effort with the fruit or to not bring out any result out of it.Moreover, the Islamic prophecy of the return of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), the Messiah, is that he will descend near the white minaret east of Damascus."...he will descend to the white minaret in the east of Damascus, wearing two garments dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels." (Sahih Muslim)[see: Signs of Day of Judgment by Ibn Katheer]A Side Point: Not only did the Masjid not exist when the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that, but Damascus also was under the rule of Romans. It was not a Muslim territory. In fact, it was conquered after the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him). So, the white minaret is a human effort made possible by Allah's blessing. The point is the prophecy will become true Insha Allah when its time comes to pass, but only Allah knows if this phenomenon is the sign of it. The greenery may sustain or may not sustain. When I mentioned our professor's input to a colleague at work, he said, "I've never seen any work going out there. And what about the amount of water it would require to sustain it?"Hmm, neither did I see any work being carried out, nor did I read any report that "concerned authorities" were doing this. But that doesn't mean work wasn't done, because I and he are not at the highway 24 hours everyday, and we do not read every single report in the newspaper. Nevertheless, it's a valid concern to verify if the government is really doing this. So, stay tuned till we get more information from more "experts" to know if Arabia is really turning green. Till then, ma'assalamah!

andalusi 238 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) The Mummy of Merneptah“We delivered the Children of israel across the sea. Pharaoh and his troops pursued them, aggressively and sinfully. When drowning became a reality for him, he said, “I believe there is no god except in the One whom the Children of israel have believed; I am a submitter. Too late! For you have rebelled already, and chose to be a transgressor. Today, we will preserve your body, to set you up as a lesson for future generations. Verily, many among mankind are totally oblivious to our signs.” (Holy Quran, from 10:90 to 10:92)One of the most intriguing predictions made by the Qur'an concerns a Pharaoh of Egypt, called Merneptah, who was the son of Rameses II. According to historical records, this king was drowned in pursuit of Moses in the Red Sea. When the Qur'an was revealed, the only other mention of Pharaoh was in the Bible, the sole reference to his having drowned being in the book of Exodus; 'And the waters returned, and covered the 'chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.'Amazingly, when this was all the world knew about the drowning of Pharaoh, the Qur'an produced this astounding revelation: Today, we will preserve your body, to set you up as a lesson for future generations. .How extraordinary this verse must have appeared when it was revealed. At that time no one knew that the Pharaoh's body was really intact, and it was nearly 1400 hundred years before this fact came to light. It was a Professor Loret who, in 1898, was the first to find the mummified remains of the Pharaoh who lived in Moses' day. For 3000 years the corpse had remained wrapped in a sheet in the Tomb of the Necropolis at Thebes where Loret had found it, until July 8, 1907, when Elliot Smith uncovered it and subjected it to proper scientific examination. In 1912 he published a book entitled The Royal Mummies. His research had proved that the mummy discovered by Loret was indeed that of the Pharaoh who 'knew Moses, resisted his pleas, pursued him as he took flight, and lost his life in the process.' His earthly remains were saved by the will of God from destruction to become a sign to man, as is written in the Qur'an.In 1975, Dr. Bucaille made a detailed examination of the Pharaoh's mummy which by then had been taken to Cairo. His findings led him to write in astonishment and acclaim:Those who seek among modern data for proof of the Holy Scriptures will find a magnificent illustration of the verses of the Qur'an dealing with the Pharaoh's body by visiting the Royal Mummies Room of the Egyptian Museum, Cairo! As early as the seventh century A.D., the Qur'an had asserted that the Pharaoh's body was preserved as a sign for man, but it was only in the 19th century that the body's discovery gave concrete proof of this prediction. What further proof is needed that the Qur'an is the Book of God? Certainly, there is no book like it, among the works of menPossibility going out in spaceGod informed us about this in 6th century in the quran:55:33 O tribes of Jinn and humans, if you can penetrate the outer limits of the heavens and the Earth, then go ahead and penetrate. You will not penetrate without power.what do you need to penetrate trough the sky into the space,FUEL/POWER, just like quran said. No prophecy there that I can see. arabic word sultan means also Power. يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍِ Ya maAAshara aljinni waalinsi ini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari alssamawati waalardi faonfuthoo la tanfuthoona illa bisultanin Hasan Al-Fatih Qaribullah Tribe of jinn and of human, if you are able to penetrate the provinces of heaven and earth, pass through them! IAmZamzam 35 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) Okay then, we’ll play it your way. Here is a fixed version. "O tribe of jinn and of men, if you are able to pass through the confines of heaven and of earth, pass through them! You shall not pass through except with power...Against you shall be loosed a flame of fire, and molten brass; and you shall not be helped." "O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them!) Ye will never penetrate them save with power...There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape." "O assembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you cannot pass through but with power...The flames of fire and smoke will be sent on you two, then you will not be able to defend yourselves." "Species of Jinn and humans, if you can make your escape from the regions of the heavens and earth, escape! You shall not escape except with power...Hurled upon the two of you shall be flames of fire and brass, and none shall come to your aid." I don’t see any change in the meaning of the overall passage. You shall not pass through except with power... this is verse 35....Against you shall be loosed a flame of fire, and molten brass; and you shall not be helped." verse 35 talk about Hell punishment
IAmZamzam 35 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) No it isn’t about hell. That’s mentioned afterward. Once again you have to look at the full context. Everyone on it must pass away. And there will endure for ever the person of your Lord, the Lord of glory and honor…All those who are in the heavens and the earth ask of Him; every moment He is in a state (of glory)…Soon will We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies…O assembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you cannot pass through but with authority/with power…The flames of fire and smoke will be sent on you two, then you will not be able to defend yourselves…And when the heaven is rent asunder, and then becomes red like red hide…So on that day neither man nor jinni shall be asked about his sin…The guilty shall be recognized by their marks, so they shall be seized by the forelocks and the feet…This is the hell which the guilty called a lie. Round about shall they go between it and hot, boiling water. The only part I've skipped over anywhere here is the "O which of the bounties of your Lord will you and you deny?" refrain. IAmZamzam 35 Posted March 19, 2013 But all that stuff still doesn’t get mentioned until verse 37. You're telling me the passage is talking about Judgment Day before it brings up Judgment Day? Why would the rushing forth from the graves be mentioned first, and then the destruction of the world, the judgment of the individuals, the plunging of the damned into hell and the admission of the faithful into paradise? That one stick in the gears throws the sequence all out of whack, coming before all the rest. But let’s go ahead and give this explanation the benefit of the doubt. You still haven’t provided any good reason for believing verse 33 to be a prophecy when it comes right after a discourse on how Allah is the one who has all the power. He’s the one who made the sun, moon and stars, along with us; He is the Lord of the east and the west; all that is on the earth implores Him, et cetera.
