dot 353 Posted May 18, 2013 :sl: Yesterday, in Jumaa khutba, the imam gave us a brilliant idea. I've taken the idea and made it into a game. Its summer time, and all the children and teenagers get a long summer vacation. A lot of kids in the summer immerse themselves in computer/video games. If you tried before but failed to convince your kids to memorize the Quran. Try this Quran memorizing game: Let your kids compete in memorizing pages from the Quran. Game rules: Set a value for points. (For example 1 point equals 1 dollar, more or less, according to your standard of living and your local currency) Stop giving allowances during summer vacation months. Each kid wins 5 points for each page he/she memorizes. If your kid made mistakes, allow him/her to revise and repeat the reciting test. Give the money only when your kid can recite the page with no mistakes. If your kid can recite the same page 30 days later, he/she wins another 5 points. Each mistake takes out 1 point. If your kid can recite the same page 60 days later, he/she wins another 5 points. Each mistake takes out 1 point. Insha'Allah parents out there try this game. If you're a kid or teenager yourself, you can suggest this game to your parents, and win in both worlds!
